Indian embassy in Oman issues new instructions for charter flights

Muscat: Organisers of charter flights being used to repatriate Indian nationals to their home states in Oman must ensure they follow all the pre-boarding procedures listed by the state to which they are flying.

The Embassy of India in Muscat has issued new procedures for community organisation and corporations that wish to charter aircraft, as well as the air transport operator (ATO) or airline that will be operating them.

"The corporate/community organisation wishing to operate a chartered flight may identify an air transport operator (ATO),“ said a statement from the embassy. "The ATO may contact the nodal point of the state government concerned directly with flight proposals and passenger manifests.“

The formats for flight proposal, passenger manifest and list of nodal points in various Indian states are being made available to all airlines operating to and from Oman.

"Simultaneously, the ATO will share the flight proposal and passenger manifest with the Embassy of India, seeking a no objection certificate (NOC) for the operation of flights,“ added the embassy. "The ATO or the corporate concerned/community organisation will obtain state government clearance in writing for the flight.“

"It will be the responsibility of corporate/community organisation and the
