ITHCA chief urges jobseekers to join Tamkeen training

Muscat – The Oman Communications and Information Technology Group (ITHCA) has called on jobseekers to register in the second batch of Tamkeen programme, the registration for which will remain open until May 20.

Tamkeen programme, which was launched in January 2016, aims to empower Omani youth in several technical fields, said Eng Said Abdullah al Mandhari, CEO of ITHCA Group.

“The training programme has helped develop the skills of Omani youth and qualified graduates to enter the labour market.” The programme is held annually in two batches to train Omani youth for six months, the ITHCA chief elaborated.

Mandhari further informed that the programme includes a number of technical courses such as electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, project management and urban planning, operations engineering and others.

“It also covers support services such as business administration, supply chain management, communication, marketing, human resources and others.”

Mandhari revealed that the number of beneficiaries of the programme since 2016 has crossed 600.

Giving more details about the programme, Mandhari said that the selection of trainees involves several stages, such as setting the goals for the trainees according to their jobs, and monthly evaluation of their skills.
