Oman hosts regional summits on aviation

Muscat – Oman, represented by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), on Sunday hosted two regional summits on aviation bringing over 150 experts from 15 different countries to deliver on navigation and safety aspects of air travel.

The 20th meeting of the Middle East Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Group and the tenth meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Group will run for four days – having an exhibition as well on the latest technologies and developments in the air navigation and aviation safety.

The meetings began under the auspices of Nayef bin Ali al Abri, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in the presence of a number of heads of the aviation sector and CAA directors general.

The meetings offer a platform to experts to share their experiences and exchange views related to air navigation and aviation safety, while focusing on the most important issues and problems facing the countries in the region and finding appropriate scientific solutions to them.

Abri stressed that global and regional developments in air navigation and aviation safety are the pillars of various work programmes of expert teams and working groups that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) uses for preparing rules, recommendations and procedures.
