His Excellency Al Shamakhi stated that the Ministry will soon announce the tender for an alternative route for the Wadi Bani Khalid road after completing necessary procedures with relevant authorities. This initiative is in response to the significant damage caused by the “Al-Mutair” collapse.

Aqaba road to Wadi Bani Khalid: A new alternative road will be constructed, stretching 6 to 7 kilometers, designed to be more durable and stable, thereby preventing rock falls. This project will leverage expertise from companies experienced in constructing similar roads in other governorates of Oman.

Road to Saiq Village: In the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi, the Ministry will rehabilitate the road leading to Saiq village by constructing valley crossings. This will ensure the road remains passable during rainfall and valley flows.
