Charlie Fellowes-trained Chealamy won the Qatar Oaks for Thoroughbreds in style on Wednesday at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club. On her Qatar debut, the three year-old filly in the silks of Khalifa bin Sheail KH J al-Kuwari, sprouted her wings in the final strides to win 2000m race for the three-year-old fillies and completed a double for the owner and jockey Jim Crowley.Earlier in the 16th Al Rayyan Meeting day, Alban de Mieulle made it another one-two for Wathnan Racing on the card in the Local Thoroughbred Oaks for three-year-old fillies as Muataz held off the challenge of her stablemate to land the spoils and chalk up a fourth winner for the owner and the trainer and a second for jockey Mickael Barzalona on the day.Jockey Maxime Guyon also completed a fine double on the day as he partnered Gorat Aeen, carrying the colours of HE Sheikha Reem bint Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani, to win the Purebred Arabian Oaks.
