Qatar Airways resumes flights to Bahrain

Earlier this week, Qatar Airways resumed services to Bahrain from Doha with a daily flight between the two destinations. QR1108 departs from Hamad International airport at 8pm, and arrives at Bahrain International airport at 8.50pm. QR1109 then leaves from Bahrain at 10.20pm and lands back in Doha at 11.15pm. The airline said that while initially there is only one daily flight, two more daily services will commence from June 15. In March this year, Qatar Airways announced a raft of new routes and resumptions. The seven new destinations that it planned to launch this year include Chittagong (Bangladesh), Juba (South Sudan), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), Medan (Indonesia), Trabzon (Türkiye) and both Lyon and Toulouse in France. Additionally, the airline will resume flights to 11 destinations including Beijing, Birmingham, Buenos Aires, Casablanca, Davao (Philippines), Marrakech, Nice, Osaka, Phnom Penh, Ras Al Khaimah and Tokyo Haneda. The airline recently now received its second Boeing 737-8, and will receive the remaining seven aircraft by the end of July. The carrier added that the 737-8s will add capacity to drive growth especially in short-haul markets, and will be expanded from the Doha-Kuwait-Doha route to other nations particularly in the GCC.
