Rising Qatari workforce – The Peninsula Qatar

The country’s leadership has over the years implemented a number of initiatives to increase the number of Qataris in the workforce across state institutions and industries. Today, Qatari nationals occupy leading positions in a range of industries, contributing to the development of the country. This has been made possible through the State’s attention to the education sector. 

It is in this context that the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that the number of Qatari employees in the authority has more than doubled over the past 4 years with an increase of 135%. The number of Qatari engineers in the authority increased by 163% during the period. There are currently 425 Qatari engineers in Ashghal who are employed with a scholarship or as a replacement / Qatarisation plan followed by Ashghal in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
