‎Jeddah Airports plans to raise passenger traffic to 114 mln by 2030: Chairman

Raed Al Mudaiheem, Chairman of Jeddah Airports Co. (JEDCO), said the record numbers reported during the Umrah and Hajj season 2023 is part of the company’s strategic goals for 2030. JEDCO aims to boost traffic to 114 million passengers.

JEDCO plans to launch new travel destinations, bringing the total above 150. It also seeks to increase non-aeronautical revenues to reach 45% of total top line by 2030, the state-run SPA reported.

JEDCO announced successful operating plans for the Hajj season 2023, serving more than 1.8 million pilgrims, including 864,000 pilgrims upon arrival and 959,000 upon departure.

Ayman Aboabah, CEO of JEDCO, said that King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) served more than 7.8 million passengers during the Hajj season, including 1.8 million pilgrims. The record growth in operations coincided with the return of pilgrims to pre-COVID levels.
