‎Minister of Transport issues licenses to Chinese companies for logistics activity practice

The Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, and the accompanying delegation held a series of meetings with leaders of major companies in the Chinese capital, Beijing. The meetings witnessed the handing over of logistics licenses to Chinese companies to practice logistics activity in the Kingdom.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the companies included KERRY Co., Sinotrans Almajdouie Middle East LLC (SMME), JDL Yao Liu Co. and Alibaba Cainiao Group, noting that Al-Jasser listened to an explanatory demonstration about the aforesaid companies, the most important challenges they face and how to facilitate their business in the Saudi market.

Moreover, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics and the Acting Chairman of the General Authority for Transport, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, signed agreements with Alibaba Cainiao Group, J&T Express, and iMile to provide short address services.

He also signed two agreements for training cooperation with the Saudi Logistics Academy.

This came on the sidelines of the Minister of Transport and Logistics’ participation in the opening of the Global Sustainable Transport Forum (2023), held in the Chinese capital, Beijing, during the period Sept. 25-26.
