American electric car and battery maker Tesla’s CEO Mr. Elon Musk has revealed that the company’s much-anticipated Cybertruck will have a high-end four-motor variant when it is officially launched in the market.

“Initial production will be 4 motor variant, with independent, ultra-fast response torque control of each wheel,” Mr. Musk said in a tweet.

Musk described the electric pickup truck as an “insane technology bandwagon,” saying it will feature front and rear-wheel steer and be able to “not just (turn) like a tank – it can travel diagonally like a crab.”

According to the reports, “The vehicle would compete with pickup trucks such as GMC’s Hummer EV, Ford’s F-150 Lightning, and Rivian’s R1T. Of those, R1T is driven by four individual motors powering all four wheels and GMC’s Hummer can drive diagonally.”

Mr. Musk said that Tesla’s pick-up truck, first announced in 2019, is made of the same stainless steel used in rockets, and received millions of orders for the CyberTruck when pre-orders were opened.
