MBRG initiatives spent Dhs1.1 billion, benefitted 91m people in 97 countries, says Mohammed

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the annual results of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) for 2021, a year in which 91 million people in 97 countries were helped by its various initiatives, projects, programmes and campaigns. Over the 12 months, the MBRGI also spent Dhs1.1 billion on various humanitarian relief, development, community, knowledge, cultural, sports and empowerment initiatives. Despite the challenge of COVID-19, whose impact continued to be felt globally during 2021, the MBRGI was able to increase the number of beneficiaries of its initiatives by 8 million people compared to 2020, and to expand the provision of its programmes, campaigns and relief and community initiatives to an additional 15 countries – confirming its position as the largest regional system for humanitarian relief, development and community work. The announcement of the results came during a special event held at Shindagha Majlis in Dubai, in which Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired the meeting of the initiative’s Board of Trustees, in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees
