Around 169 Pakistanis who were stranded in the UAE for non-compliance with the visit visa entry requirements have been repatriated since Wednesday, a senior official said on Thursday. Hundreds of people from different nationalities have been stranded since Wednesday after the authorities required all visit and tourist visa holders to show Dh2,000 cash and hotel accommodation to enter the country. "Around 169 people have been repatriated since yesterday. We are sending back people stranded at the airport as and when seats are available on the aircraft. This is an ongoing process," said Ahmed Amjad Ali, the Consul-General of Pakistan in Dubai.
