Coronavirus: UAE and India extend special flights for another week – The National

Talks are under way to determine a further extension of flights to bring residents back to the UAE from India

Negotiations are under way about the number and frequency of flights between India and the UAE as a 15-day travel window has been extended to allow residents back to the Emirates.



The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority said talks were being held and updates would be issued once discussions were completed. A 15-day travel pact allowing flights between India and the UAE was due to end on Sunday.



Pavan Kapoor, India's ambassador to the UAE, said flights will continue over the next week while a new agreement is worked out.



"It has been extended at least for another week,“ Mr Kapoor told The National.



"The idea is that we keep it going so time has been given while we come to an agreement for the way beyond.“
