Pre-travel rapid Covid test not mandatory before flying to India

Budget carrier flydubai announced on Wednesday that the pre-travel rapid IgG/ IgM testing for detection of Covid-19 is 'not mandatory' for travellers to any destination in India. The decision is effective immediately. A circular was issued in this regard to flydubai's travel partners.  

Following the Dubai Airports' announcement that changed the rapid testing venue from the departure terminal to the Shabab Al Ahli Football Club on Sunday, long queues had formed outside the club.

The free testing service was offered to all passengers departing from Dubai Airports and was predominantly used by passengers on repatriation flights to India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. "Now, passengers on flydubai flights can purchase their tickets, wear a mask and go home," said Sudheesh TP, general manager of Deira Tours and Travels.
