Good luck: Nasa, Hope probe connect in space and on Twitter

A bromance seems to be brewing on Twitter between the UAE's Hope Mars Mission and Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) - and Twitterati are loving it.

A little after the UAE's 'Al Amal' orbiter made history on Monday with a successful launch into space to study the Red Planet, Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which manages many of the space administration's robotic missions exploring Earth, the solar system and the universe, put out a message of encouragement in honour of the trailblazing mission.

"Good luck, @HopeMarsMission as you begin your journey to the Red Planet! We can't wait to see you out there, and are proud to carry communications for your mission via the Deep Space Network," it read.

The folks at Emirates Mars Mission were quick to respond, saying, "It's been an incredible journey so far, and we can't wait to get there. Earth is getting farther away, as my destination gets closer. Thank you for keeping me connected to home
