AGU’s faculty member participates in the “Empowering women leaders in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics“

Dr. Afaf Mubarak Bugawa, who is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Innovation and Technology Management at the College of Graduate Studies at AGU, participated in the “Empowering Women Leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)” programme. This programme was organised by the Office of International Visitors in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, which is supervised in the Kingdom of Bahrain by the United States Embassy. Participants of this programme presented projects that were individual or had small or large groups. Moreover, participants focused on potential leaders in the government or civil society. The American embassies in each country select participants who have the ability to improve bilateral relations, which gives the participants the opportunity to visit the United States for a period of two or three weeks. Furthermore, the Canvas platform was created to assist the communication among graduates of the International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) for the three years 2017, 2018, and 2019 with about 160 posts from all over the world. In addition, Canvas helped in developing a special group named Hidden No More Reunion on LinkedIn under the file of the Ministry of
