Aqaba Special Economic Zone releases statement – Roya News English

The deputy head of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Sharhabeel Madi, said that not being vaccinated does not stop you from entering the city, explaining that every visitor can easily take a free and fast (only three minutes) COVID-19 test, after which he is allowed to enter.

The Tourism Commissioner added, on Sunday, that the goal of this measure is not to reduce visitors, but rather to keep the city of Aqaba safe from the COVID-19 pandemic. This measure also seeks to preserve the health and safety of visitors and residents of the city, especially since the city recorded the highest vaccination rate in the Kingdom and the partial preventative measures were lifted and the industrial, commercial and tourism sector were all allowed to operate.

He asked to ignore the rumors of restrictions on visitors when visiting Aqaba, noting that all citizens or tourists wishing to enter the coastal city can do so with ease, except for those who receive a positive COVID-19 test.
