From commitment to action: How business can hardwire change on racial justice





The murder of George Floyd reignited the movement for racial justice and propelled the issue to the top of the global agenda.

Business has a vital role to play in sustaining this momentum, using its influence to advance racial equity in the workplace and across communities served.

The Partnering for Racial Justice in Business initiative is exploring new and creative ways to move the needle on racial equity.



The graphic murder of George Floyd two years ago was a moment of reckoning that reignited the movement for racial justice and propelled the issue to the top of the global agenda. More than 48 organizations representing 13 industries, with more than 5.5 million employees worldwide, have since committed to building more equitable and just workplaces as part of the Partnering for Racial Justice in Business initiative – a global coalition led by the World Economic Forum.

Now action is required to maintain and increase this momentum. With competing priorities, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine clamouring for our attention, we cannot afford to take our eye off this prize. This is not just because it is the right thing to do, but because racial equity is
