Middle East News: Jordan and Palestine leaders to hold key talks – Gulf Digital News

King Abdullah of Jordan will hold talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank today, Palestinian Television said. The visit is widely expected to focus on efforts to reduce tensions in the Palestinian territories and East Jerusalem ahead of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, two suspected Arab gunmen wounded two police officers in the Israeli city of Hadera yesterday and were then shot dead, police said in Jerusalem. “Luckily, our officers managed to neutralise the assailants and prevent a bigger terrorist attack,” national police spokesman Eli Levy said on Israel’s Kan television, which showed footage of two men, armed with rifles, opening fire on a main street in Hadera, about 50km north of Tel Aviv.
