Annual day of influential Omani figures listed in Unesco celebrated

Bahla: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, celebrated on 18 February the Annual Day of Globally Influential Omani Personalities listed in the Unesco, which falls on 10 February every year.

The celebration was held at Jibreen Fort in the Wilayat of Bahla, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate under the patronage of Ibrahim bin Said Al Kharoussi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage.

The celebration was organised in cooperation with the government departments and the private sector establishments concerned with preservation of the Omani cultural heritage.

The celebration aimed to showcase the globally influential Omani personalities at the local and international level.

It aimed to showcase the Jibreen Fort which is listed in the Unesco programme for the anniversary celebrations of the key historic events and the globally influential personalities.

It also aimed to showcase the architecture of the fort and engineering construction method and its impact in the field of science and education as many students from the Arab countries attended lessons in the various fields of science.
