Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the rose 0.57% to hit a new 5-year high, while the index added 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the were Hermes International SCA (PA:), which rose 3.07% or 29.20 points to trade at 980.60 at the close. Meanwhile, L'Oreal SA (PA:) added 2.69% or 8.90 points to end at 339.60 and Legrand SA (PA:) was up 2.46% or 1.94 points to 80.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:), which fell 3.47% or 1.31 points to trade at 36.40 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:) declined 2.51% or 3.25 points to end at 126.15 and Faurecia (PA:) was down 2.41% or 1.19 points to 48.23.
