U.S stocks edged slightly higher before the open Wednesday as investors look ahead to a fresh month of trading with continued focus on inflation and the Federal Reserve’s efforts to rein in rising prices.

Futures tied to the S&P 500 climbed 0.2%, while contracts on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 130 points, or 0.4%. Nasdaq futures rose 0.1%.

Shares of Salesforce (CRM) climbed 8.8% in pre-market trading after the software company raised its profit forecast and said it did not see any significant impact on operations from macroeconomic uncertainty after a recent string of quarterly results from corporate peers reflected struggles with rising costs and supply chain imbalances.
