FDO Attends WAS Annual Conference and Exhibition To attract investors, encourage investments and promote the Sultanate’s strategic location

Muscat: Fisheries Development Oman (FDO) attended World Aquaculture Society (WAS) annual conference and exhibition, which is an important event that discusses the various blue economy industries. It was organized in Singapore from 30 November to 2 December 2022 by Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and attended by Asian, Pacific, and other countries from all over the world.

The FDO participation aimed to introduce the fisheries in the Sultanate of Oman and their competitive advantage in the international markets and the encouragement of investments in associated industries. Such exhibition and conference constitute the appropriate venue for exchanging international experience and experiments and getting updated with the most important scientific developments and the latest technologies. The conference brings together international institutions and organizations specialized in fisheries under one roof to discuss challenges and solutions to the international issues of the aquaculture industries.

On the sidelines of the conference, a number of workshops and seminars hosted experts and scientists from all over the world, covering all aquaculture topics including dryland aquaculture, environment, biodiversity, climate change as well as aquaculture technology and discuss aquaculture sustainable development and other issues related to sustainable development and blue economy.
