Conflict worsens Covid-19 spike in Syria – MEED

Case growth is slowing in the wider Mena region as vaccine localisation investments gain traction

The number of Covid-19 cases in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region crossed 13,823,986 on 20 September, according to Worldometers data collated by MEED.

Countries in the GCC account for 18.1 per cent (2,503,593) of all regional cases, while Iran’s 5,424,835 infections make up 39.2 per cent of the 13.6 million tally.
