Joe Rogan Needs To Stop Talking About COVID-19

During the early days of the pandemic, Joe Rogan helped guide his listeners through the fog of uncertainty and uninformed speculation by inviting University of Minnesota professor and epidemiologist Michael Osterholm on his podcast. But the moment that interview was over, Osterholm's advice seemed to evaporate from Rogan's brain, vanishing in a puff of smoke. For Rogan has spent the last few months using his gargantuan platform to constantly undermine the severity of the pandemic. Aside from Bill Burr, who famously chastised Rogan for voicing his ignorant opinions on public health, few guests have pushed back against Rogan's confident, casual misinformation. Now, Rogan is under fire for expressing the opinion that young, healthy individuals shouldn't bother getting the vaccine. On the April 23 edition of his Spotify podcast, Rogan stated: "But if you're like 21 years old, and you say to me, should I get vaccinated? I'll go no. Are you healthy? Are you a healthy person? Like, look, don't do anything stupid, but you should take care of yourself. You should, if you're a healthy person, and you're exercising all the time, and you're young, and you're eating well, like, I don't think you need to worry about this."
