Omicron causes Covid-19 spike in Mena – MEED
The number of Covid-19 cases in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region reached 16,029,604 on 18 January, according to Worldometers data collated by MEED.
Countries in the GCC account for 17.8 per cent (2,827,334) of all regional cases, while Iran’s 6,224,196 infections make up 39.1 per cent of the 16-million tally.
