The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported today 162 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and recorded 85 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 364,059.

In a statement, the MoPH said that 128 of the new confirmed cases are among community and 34 cases among travelers. It pointed out that 6,785,998 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination program, adding that 7,637 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.

The ministry further added that 1,553,060 Covid-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date, explaining that 89.4 percent of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.

In its statement, the MoPH explained that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines and the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with Covid-19 are either unvaccinated or had their second dose more than 6 months ago and have not received a booster dose.

It also noted that the latest evidence shows that the country has passed the peak of the third wave of the pandemic, as the number of daily new cases of the virus continues
