Karwa buses promote Omani industry at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai, UAE – Karwa Motors, Oman’s first bus brand with a manufacturing facility in Special Economic Zone at Duqm, has been introduced for the first time outside the sultanate as a marketing strategy to promote its industrial sector.

The buses are being used to transport Omani delegations participating in various events held at the sultanate’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi, advisor to Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and commissioner general of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2020, informed that the made-in-Oman buses were introduced in Dubai as the sultanate is eager to take advantage of the economic opportunities available at the expo.

A specialised company was engaged to design livery for the bus to market and promote Omani industry.

Karwa Motors is a joint investment project between Oman and Qatar, which in its first phase aims to produce 500 buses annually.

The first phase of operations at the Karwa Motors facility is focused on manufacturing buses for FIFA World Cup 2022 in Doha later this year.
