Qatar Charity has successfully performed corneal transplant operations for three displaced Syrians. The operations were conducted in a hospital in northern Syria. Qatar Charity covered the expenses of the operations, treatment trip, and full follow-up until their sight is restored.Ahmed Abdo, who was displaced from the Aleppo countryside to the Afrin region, was suffering from complete loss of sight. Despite his condition, difficult financial circumstances remained an obstacle until Qatar Charity sponsored his corneal transplant for his left eye.Following the success of the operation, Ahmed said that after five years he is now able to carry out daily tasks on his own. He expressed his gratitude to the good people in Qatar who sponsored this charitable work.He said, “For the first time, I can see my children and recognise their faces. It is a different and indescribable feeling.
