Orcadian Energy planning to use floating turbine to reduce Pilot emissions

North Sea firm Orcadian Energy has lodged proposals to install a floating wind turbine to minimise emissions from an 80 million barrel project.

Orcadian, formerly Pharis Energy, has chosen to include the floating turbine in the development concept for its 100%-owned Pilot field, about 90 miles east of Aberdeen.

In order to push forward with the proposals, an addendum to the project’s concept select report has been filed with regulator the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA).
