Exclusive: Earth Day 2022: Time To Invest In Green Infrastructure

Last year, a total of 20 countries in the MENA region participated in Earth Day 2021 to tackle climate change head-on through scientific education, biodiversity and restoration projects, curbing plastic waste and pollution, and promoting climate literacy.

Regionally and globally, the environmental revolution that the first Earth Day started in 1970 has resonated across communities and countries, creating a platform for impactful action. This year, Earth Day comes at a critical time for humanity, with the world at a pivotal moment to act on environmental sustainability.

As emerging and developing economies face a dramatic surge in demand for energy and mobility while they industrialise and urbanise, decisions on critical infrastructure investments today could make or break the Paris Agreement pledge to limit global temperature rise to below 2°C.
