Guyana trims gas-to-shore project
Kingston, 23 February (Argus) — Guyana has trimmed plans for a natural gas-fired industrial complex announced in September 2020, saying the volume of the fuel to be delivered by pipeline from an ExxonMobil-operated deepwater block will not be enough to fire all the envisaged projects.
The cutbacks will affect the size of a gas-fired power plant and a natural gas liquids facility, and delay the development of plants producing ammonia and urea.
They will also affect plans that would have supplied bauxite and gold mines with gas delivered by cryogenic tankers, replacing diesel.
