Saudi Gazette reportRIYADH — Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Fahd, serving as the minister of the state and a Cabinet member and also the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Reserve, recently undertook a significant environmental initiative.He personally released a number of rare wild species into the reserve, highlighting its commitment to preserving and reproducing these species as part of broader efforts to support biodiversity, enhance the environmental balance, and promote environmental sustainability.In his remarks, Prince Turki emphasized the Saudi leadership's dedication to protecting nature to ensure a sustainable future for upcoming generations.He pointed out the crucial role played by the Royal reserves in meeting the objectives set out in the Saudi Vision 2030. This vision includes enhancing the quality of life for residents and achieving sustainable development goals.The Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Reserve, the second largest in the Kingdom, spans an impressive 91,000 square kilometers.It provides a sanctuary to 130 rare animal species and houses 179 different plant species, thereby playing a pivotal role in the country's environmental conservation efforts.
