Muscat – The chairman of Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has visited several shops in South Batinah with the aim of ensuring the availability of goods in markets.

‘Sulayem bin Ali al Hikmani, chairman of Consumer Protection Authority, visited a number of shopping centres and shops in South Batinah as part of his field visits to various markets to ensure the availability of consumer goods in the markets during the holy month of Ramadan,’ a CPA statement said.

Hikmani reiterated to suppliers the importance of continuing to cooperate with the authority and its personnel in order to maintain a safe market for all, and for them to fulfil their responsibility towards the homeland and society.

He also urged them to maintain transparency in conducting business and pay attention to the quality of goods.

The authority also organised an awareness lecture – titled ‘Safe Consumer Culture’ – at a mosque in Rustaq, South Batinah on Tuesday.
