MUSCAT: A scientific symposium entitled 'Technical and Scientific Transformation: Future Opportunities and Challenges' was organised as part of the conclusion of the National Science, Technology and Mathematics Week programmes. The event was held under the patronage of Saud Saeed Hilal al Maawali, Vice President of the Municipal Council, Al Batinah South Governorate.The scientific symposium was held at the Omani Women Association’s building in Wadi Al Maawal in the presence of supervisors from the Al Batinah South’s Directorate of Education, school principals, teachers and parents.Dr Zamzam Saif al Lamki, Director of the National System Project for Capacity Building and Talent Management, Ministry of Labour presented her working paper entitled 'The National System for Building Capabilities and Talent Management'.The second paper entitled 'Developing the Emerging Skills of Innovators' was presented by Nabil Saif al Habsi, a researcher in the field of STEM while the third paper was presented by Bushra Muhammad al Ghaithi, PhD candidate in strategic planning and e-learning, an educational supervisor, Ministry of Education, under the title 'Planning to Integrate Technology into Education'.Yaqoub Zahir al Shaqsi, Head of the Applied Sciences Department, Al Batinah South Governorate’s General Directorate of Education presented the recommendations of the symposium, most importantly building a
