CAA signs air bilateral agreements with 4 countries



Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) signed four agreements on regulating air transport services on the sidelines of the 15th International Conference on Air Services Negotiations in Riyadh.The agreements were signed with the Republic of Gambia, the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Federal Republic of Brazil.The event, attended by 713 aviation leaders from 97 countries and organizations, saw that concluded on Wednesday saw more than 579 bilateral and multilateral meetings and 521 agreements.The successful event featured several regional and global aviation policy and commercial announcements and agreements including the first Arab Air Transport Forum organized by Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the first ICAN exhibition featuring pavilions from across the Saudi aviation sector, and a new Regional Safety Oversight Organization for the Middle East & North Africa based in Riyadh to assist Member States on implementing the State Safety Programme (SSP).The President of the ICAO Council, Salvatore Sciacchitano, said, “ICAN is a major civil aviation event held once a year allowing member states to gather to conduct bilateral, regional, and multilateral air service negotiations and consultations."Oman's National Aviation Strategy calls for integrative planning between the components of the civil
