Muscat Metro project still under study, says Minister

The Muscat Metro project is currently under study, and the same is expected to be complete by the end of this year, said the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology

Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, explained that the railway link between Oman and Saudi Arabia is also currently under study; however, work on the joint railway project between Oman and UAE (Sohar-Abu Dhabi) is expected to be implemented during the course of the year, along with a draft law. The Minister also stated that road governance between the Ministry and the governorates will be completed in 2024; this is expected to to enhance decentralization, while maintaining the quality of service.
